Nervous System-Centered Chiropractic

Chiropractic is not the treatment of conditions or disease; rather, it is the restoration of normal body function. Our doctors work with the nervous system via gentle spinal adjustments, which reduces stress-related interference to the nervous system, and enhances overall body function. Every system in the body — circulatory, digestive, eliminatory, hormonal, glandular, immunological, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, and skeletal — depends on the optimal function of the nervous system.

With chiropractic, true healing is coming from within the body rather than from the chiropractor’s adjustment. And it’s not just about popping or cracking to relieve back pain. Chiropractic care should always begin with the nervous system to determine what interferences are causing the imbalance; the pain, and removing those, rather than just a ‘Band-Aid’ approach of only addressing the physical symptoms.

Chiropractic care is the foundation for true healing because it unleashes your body’s innate ability to heal itself. Our doctors use an analysis to determine where the nervous system interference is located within your body and are trained in Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Activator, Upper Cervical, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), and Torque Release Technique.

Prenatal Chiropractic

Research shows that prenatal chiropractic care contributes to a more straightforward labor with less pain and trauma for mother and child. It can improve the balance and alignment of the spine and pelvis and provide a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery for mother and baby. By restoring balance to the nervous system through gentle + specific nervous system-centered chiropractic adjustments, optimal function to the reproductive organs is restored thus supporting the needs of your baby throughout pregnancy.

Our doctors are certified in Webster Technique from International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and firmly believes that if you’re under chiropractic care during pregnancy, your chiropractor should be certified in this technique.

Pediatric Chiropractic

Birth is tough work for both mothers and babies. There are a lot of pressures and forces being exerted onto your baby during their journey into the world. A recent study by Viola Frymann demonstrated that 90% of newborns suffered the effects of birth trauma.

Birth in its many different forms can be quite traumatic. While each birth is unique, there is always a chance that the baby suffers some sort of strain due to a variety of reasons. Even the most natural births can result in trauma that goes undetected.

Left uncorrected, this trauma continues to impact a baby’s spinal growth and development, reducing the healthy function of the nervous system. 65% of neurological development (development of the brain and nervous system) occurs in the child’s first year so it’s imperative to ensure that your baby has every opportunity to maximize their nerve function during this critical period in their development.

Although all infants should be checked right after birth, here are 3 clear indicators to bring your baby to a pediatric chiropractor:

Their head tilts to one side, even after you straighten it

They seem to have difficulty turning their neck to one side

They have difficulty settling down or sleeping soundly

Our doctors have additional training from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and firmly believes that if you’re taking your infant or child in for chiropractic care, your chiropractor should have done continuing education in pediatrics through the ICPA.

Whole Family Chiropractic

We stand for healthy families — dads and grandparents included! We focus on serving and supporting the entire family. While we do have additional training and certifications to care for pregnant women and infants exceptionally well, we believe families function at their best when they’re all under care.

CLA Insight

CLA INSiGHT is a computerized, non-invasive, painless test that allows us to get a baseline of how your body is reacting to the stressors mentioned above. It measures how your nerves communicate with your muscles, how your nerves communicate with your organs, and how your nervous system adapts to stress.

These scans allow us to accurately detect dysfunction in your nervous system beyond what you may be feeling or experiencing symptomatically.

They are incredibly informative tests that don’t cause any discomfort. They’re safe and gentle for the entire family — even newborns!

In our everyday life, our nervous systems perceive and are having to adapt:
traumas (physical stressors such as birth, slips/falls, car accidents)

toxins (chemical stressors such as poor food choices, pollutants, drugs)

autosuggestion (emotional stressors such as school, work, bullies)

The INSiGHT scans are made up of the three most important spinal-neural tests: Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Surface EMG, and Thermal — which work together to tell us how stress is impacting your overall health and well-being.

  • Heart Rate Variability

Your heart rate variability, or HRV, scan measures how your nervous system is adapting to stress. This lets us know if you’re stuck in a stressed mode of function or a calm mode of function.

  • sEMG (Static Electromyography)

sEMG scans assess how the nerves are communicating with the muscles that maintain posture. Knowing how this communication is being distributed gives us a good overall picture of the function of the nervous system.

  • Rolling Thermal

Rolling thermal scans take temperatures along your spine. In the same way that the skin around a healing cut will get hot, our nerves give off a heat response when there is interference. This measures how our nerves are communicating with organs, glands, and blood vessels.
