Meet Dr. Travis.
One of the things that I love most in life is taking care of kids and creating healthy, phenomenal families. I knew after a few years in practice that taking care of little kids and babies is what I loved to do more than anything else. That's why I became certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics, so I could help these little ones as best as I can. Having three phenomenal kiddos of my own that I am very proud of, I get to see firsthand how living the chiropractic lifestyle positively impacts the health of my own family. I want everyone to experience this type of lifestyle, and that is what drives me to do what I love every day.
My mother had a life-changing experience with chiropractic when she and my dad were trying to start a family shortly after they were married. After years of having no luck becoming pregnant, her chiropractor Dr. Dale Huffer, got her under care to return her nervous system to the way it was designed to function. Long story short, I am the result of that! You could say I was born to be a chiropractor. I knew at a very young age this is what I was going to do when I grew up. Growing up next door to Dr. Kreg Huffer helped, as I not only learned from him but saw firsthand the miracles that chiropractic can do for people. Now I am blessed to be here in my hometown, working with the practice that started it all.
Outside the office, my beautiful wife Michelle and I are busy with our 3 kids Kashton, Everly, and Quinlyn. One of the greatest blessings in my life is raising 3 amazing kids and witnessing firsthand not only the happy/good-feeling moments that go along with parenthood but also the struggles that make the adventure. Being a parent can be difficult and knowing the "correct" thing to do is not always an easy decision. Having a good foundation on where health comes from with my chiropractic education has ultimately made me the father I am today. Vice versa having kids has made me the doctor I am today. One of my passions is taking care of families that want to live a vitalistic lifestyle and leading by example.
One thing that all of us here at Huffer Chiropractic strive towards is searching for the truth and getting to the underlying cause of dis-ease. Chiropractic removes interference that is preventing the body from expressing itself to its fullest. The inability to adapt to the Traumas, Toxins, and Thoughts we accumulate in our life leads to interferences in our nervous system (Subluxation). Neuro-Emotional work has been intriguing to me because how we deal with emotional stress seems to be the underlying cause of so many people's health issues. That has led me to B.E.S.T. and QNRT techniques that help find and deal with these types of issues. Everyone could benefit from having this disturbance removed no matter where they are in life, young, old, athletic, healthy, or sick. Getting checked for this interference and removing it consistently will help you experience a phenomenal life. Call and set up a consult and become a part of our family here at Huffer Chiropractic.
Meet Dr. Marcus.
I was privileged and lucky to receive my first chiropractic adjustment from my dad the day I was born. From that day on, I was raised in a home where fevers and headaches were not treated with Tylenol, but instead with regular chiropractic care that kept my nervous system in check so my body could function optimally.
My dad and grandfather, both chiropractors, made sure that we not only received the best care they could offer but that we were taught what it meant to live holistically, congruent with how our bodies were designed to function. Our cabinets were filled with whole food supplements, not pharmaceutical drugs; and it wasn’t an operating table that I regularly lay on but a chiropractic table, which helped prevent the need for the former. Even though nobody told me what I should be when I grew up, it came as no surprise when in second grade I drew a picture of a chiropractor (or my best attempt at one) and wrote underneath it “I want to be like my dad because he makes people feel better with his hands.”
The same passion ignited in my heart as a child burned brighter as I grew older, never wavering as it followed me to the University of Dayton, where I pursued my Bachelor of Science. My educational journey then took me further south to Life University Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Georgia. Here I fine-tuned my passion into a skill set that I could use to provide care for my future patients. My days were spent in the classroom learning from doctors with years of experience, participating in and taking on leadership roles in various clubs, and traveling for seminars to learn specialized chiropractic techniques.
Long before I went to Georgia for my Doctorate, I knew that I wanted to return to this area to practice. Not just for familiarity's sake, but because of my strong ties to family, the community, mentors, and my faith, all of which have played vital roles in shaping who I am today.
Holistic health and my Catholic faith are the building blocks on which I've built my character. Growing up, I often heard the words "faith over fear," which gave me a stable foundation as I learned to accept that God’s plan is bigger than all of life’s stresses. In a fallen world, trusting our Creator brings me comfort, especially when applied to His grand design for our bodies. Our lives are lived through our nervous system, which is purposefully created to support our mind, body, and spirit. When structural, chemical, and neuro-emotional interferences are removed to allow the nervous system to work as it was designed, the best quality of life is possible.
In Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, the Holy Father succinctly summarizes that the body and soul are not separate entities — the two together make us human. This intrinsic connection between the physical and the divine means that what’s good for one is inherently good for the other. My lifelong Catholic and chiropractic upbringing has helped me realize that I can use my hands to help people to heal physically so that Christ, the Great Physician, can more effectively heal them spiritually.
Family is of the utmost importance to me. I'm not surprised that after years of being away from them, I found myself practicing so close to home. Apart from being blessed to have come from an amazing family of seven, I’m excited to be marrying my fiancée, Audrey, in October of 2023! I look forward to growing my family and being a part of the Huffer Chiropractic team, working to further our mission to educate, motivate, and inspire full potential for human development.
